If you live in Travis, Bastrop, Blanco, Burnet, Caldwell, Hays, Lee, or Williamson Counties:
- Become a VDR in Travis County - Watch the Travis County video training and take the test.
- Request reciprocal certification from another county in Texas using your current VDR certificate issued to you from Travis county. This process may vary slightly by county, but generally involves:
- Providing a copy of a current (i.e. non-expired) VDR certificate issued to you by another county in Texas to the office of the Voter Registrar or Elections Administrator of the county you wish to get reciprocal certification from
- Completing some paperwork with the Voter Registrar or Elections Administrator of the county to be appointed as a VDR in their county
Tip: call ahead before visiting a county office for reciprocal certification. While it may not be required, we have found it is helpful to ensure staff is available to assist you with the reciprocal certification process.
