| | Volunteer for Democracy Rocks!
LWVAA is hosting its Democracy Rocks! civics treasure hunt as part of the 2026 Central Texas Learning Festival. The event will take place on Saturday, March 14, from 1:00 - 3:30 p.m. at Twin Oaks Library. Kids will use a treasure map to find different stations where they'll discover messages about history and civics and record what they learn on a log sheet. They'll return their completed sheets and select a prize from our treasure chest.
We need volunteers to help make the treasure hunt a success! You can volunteer to help set up or clean up, to hand out maps and log sheets to treasure hunters, or to help hunters navigate the course. This opportunity is open to anyone age 16 and up. Contact Joyce Jackson at jjackson@lwvaustin.org if you need more information or if you need help signing up for a volunteer shift.

Urgent! Act now!
Tell Senator Cornyn and Senator Cruz to reject the SAVE Act!
Oppose requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote
Requiring documentary proof of American citizenship to register to vote in federal elections is unnecessary and seeks to divide us. It doesn't make elections more secure: it simply creates another barrier to voting.
Many communities of eligible voters would be unnecessarily burdened by the requirements of these bills, including military voters, people of color, married women who've changed their names, and people who've lost important documentation due to natural disasters.
