In Texas, only voters who are 65 years of age or older or are disabled may submit an annual application for a ballot by mail.
All others who qualify to vote by mail must apply for a ballot by mail for each election.
Your application must be received at your county election office 11 days or more before Election Day.

If you send your application by fax or email, the original, hard copy of the application MUST be mailed and received by the early voting clerk no later than the 4th business day after it was originally submitted.

Expect your ballot to arrive about 45 days before election day.

• Mark your ballot with a black or blue pen.
• Fill in the ovals completely. No checks, X’s, or circles
• Put your ballot in the ballot envelope and seal it. Put only 1 ballot in the ballot envelope.
• Place the ballot envelope in the carrier envelope. Don’t seal it yet!

If you’re unable to sign or make a mark, your Witness must:

• Print the voter’s name

• Check that the voter can’t make a mark

• Print and sign the Witness’ name

• Write the Witness’ address

Return your ballot as soon as you can to ensure it arrives at your county election office by 7:00 pm on Election Day.

Mail your ballot - use the United States Post Office

• If you live in Travis County, you do not need to add a stamp.
• Ask the post office to manually postmark the envelope if you are mailing your ballot close to election day. In Texas, ballots postmarked before 7:00 pm on election day and received at the county election office by 5:00 the day after the election will be counted. 

You can also use FedEx, UPS, or DHL to return your ballot. Use the Travis County Election Office address:  5501 Airport Blvd, Austin, Texas 78751.

You, the voter, may hand-deliver your own ballot on Election Day between 7:00 am and 7:00 pm at the Travis County Election Office ( 5501 Airport Blvd, Austin, Texas 78751).
