No Kings 3 Rally

On Saturday, March 28, join Hands Off Central Texas, LWVAA, and other Central Texans at the No Kings 3 rally. Let's defend democracy and declare that America does not belong to wealthy special interests -- it belongs to the people.

Calling all VDRs: Register voters at the rally!

Join us registering and informing voters on March 28 at No Kings 3 at Auditorium Shores. Find the LWVAA tables in the Democracy & Civic Action Village. We'll have a voter registration table stocked with all the supplies you'll need. Volunteers might take turns between our booth and canvassing the crowd. Just sign up and show up!

Help collect signatures for the ERA!

Be a "Clipboard Champion" at the No Kings 3 rally at Auditorium Shores! We need volunteers to canvass the crowd and collect signatures on the petition asking Congress to recognize the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) as the 28th Amendment to the Constitution. Sign up to help at the link below, or just drop by the LWVAA tables in the Democracy & Civic Action Village, pick up a clipboard, and start canvassing! For more information on the ERA, check out this site. We've been waiting on the ERA since 1972!

Driving the Vote for Equality

The Driving the Vote for Equality Tour will be in Austin on March 24, and our own League headquarters at the Baker School will be one of the stops! The goal of the tour is to finish what the suffragists started: guaranteeing equal rights under the law for all people by certifying the Equal Rights Amendment as the 28th amendment to the US Constitution. Austin needs leaders who care about democracy. That could be you.

The League of Women Voters of the Austin Area is looking for passionate community members to join our 2026 - 2027 Board of Directors. If you care about empowering voters, protecting democracy, and helping shape civic life in Austin, this is your moment to step up.
We’re looking for League members who bring experience, ideas, and energy from across our community. Use your experience in business, nonprofits, government, advocacy, or organizing -- or call upon your deep commitment to civic engagement. Washington Post: The SAVE America Act’s effects are unpredictable, but changes in voting patterns could make more stringent requirements a problem for Republicans. Read more: The voting bill Trump says will secure victory could backfire

The New York Times: The legislation would require voters to prove their citizenship in person upon registration, ban IDs without a photo at polling places, and criminalize failures to enforce such requirements. Read more: What’s in the Voter ID Bill Trump and Republicans Are Pushing?

Take Action

In 2026, women's voices are more critical than ever.
  • As voters, organizers, community leaders, and advocates, women shape how democracy responds to the realities families and communities face every day. When women vote, organize, and engage in public life, they influence the direction of policies that affect millions of people nationwide. Read: Democracy Moves With Women
