First Vote! Training (at ACC Highland)
About this event
Ready to help high school seniors to get ready to vote?
Each year, more than 15,000 people turn 18 in Travis County, and many of them will turn 18 during their senior year in high school. In 2024, we went to 24 schools in the month of September, sharing our presentation and registering voters. We will need a lot of trained volunteers to make it happen again in 2026, and for most, this will be their first year volunteering with the program.
Join this hands-on training to learn how you can help. This training is only available in person - participants will go through the activities and the materials used in our school visits.
Who? Anyone interested in the First Vote! program is welcome to attend this in person training.
Presenters: If you plan to be a First Vote! presenter with the League of Women Voters of the Austin Area and did not present in the fall of 2025 or spring of 2026, you must attend this training or reach out for alternate arrangements.
VDRs: Attending the training is not required but it is encouraged, even if you volunteered with us before. VDRs engage with the presenter and students during the presentation, so it is really helpful to have as many VDRs fully trained in the program as possible.
We look forward to seeing you!
