Light for Our Democracy Austin Area
About this event

Democracy is not just a system of government--it's the power of the people. It begins with us, our voices, and our votes. At a time when democracy is under threat, LWV is asking you--and countless others across the country--to come together to defend it.
Tuesday, March 4, marks the President's address to Congress. Instead of tuning in, LWV Austin Area will host a community gathering at the Capitol to bring people together in reflection, action, and solidarity.
History has shown us that change happens when people come together. From the abolition of slavery to the expansion of voting rights, collective action has always been the driving force of progress.
Please consider joining us in our efforts to promote the health of our democracy, the future of our nation, and the well-being of all its people.
When: Tuesday, March 4, 2025, 7:30-9:30 p.m.
Where: South side of the Capitol, 1100 Congress Avenue, Austin, 78701
Bring your light! A flashlight, battery-powered candles, or just your phone.
