You have two choices if your family home is in Travis County but you moved to another location in Travis County:

1. You can stay registered at your home address.
2. You can change your address by submitting a change request online. You can also sign the form on the back of your Voter Registration certificate or complete a new Voter Registration Application and mail to Travis County Voter Registrar, 2433 Ridgepoint Dr., Austin, TX 78754-5231. Your ballot will include races from your new precinct.

Your application must be received no later than 30 days before the election.

You have two choices if your family home is outside Travis County but you reside in Travis County while you attend college:

• You can still vote in your home county, but you will have to go home to vote, or submit an application for a ballot by mail (ABBM). You can download one from the Secretary of State, fill it out and mail it to your county elections department so that it arrives between Jan. 1 and 11 days before each election. You will be mailed a ballot at your current address that must be returned by Election Day.
• You can change your address by submitting a change request online, or submit a new Voter Registration Application to the Travis County Voter Registration office. You can fill and download a form on the Secretary of State's website, but it can't be submitted online; you must print it out, sign it and mail it. Or you can get a form from any public library or other government office, fill it out and mail it.

• If you want to vote in Texas, you will need to fill out a Voter Registration Application. You can fill and download it on the Secretary of State's website, then print, sign it and mail it to the Travis County Voter Registration office. Or you can get a form from any public library or government office, fill it out and mail it. Your application must be received no later than 30 days before the election.
• You can also choose to stay registered in your home state and vote by mail. Check your state’s qualifications, deadlines and instructions for applying for an application for a ballot by mail.

Whenever you update your drivers license you will have the opportunity to update your voter registration at the same time.

• The address on your drivers license may be different than the address where you are registered to vote.
• When you are given the opportunity to update your voter registration, make sure to use the address where you are registered to vote.
• Confirm your voter registration at VoteTexas.gov at least 30 days before every election.

If you are registered in Travis County, you can vote at any local polling site both during early voting and on Election Day. It’s important to change your address when you move because your residence determines which races you will be voting in.

Go to VoteTravis.com and review a sample ballot on the Travis County Elections website before the election to get a sample ballot for your address.

When you vote in person in Texas, you must show one of the 7 acceptable forms of photo ID.

• Student IDs are not accepted. 
• If you do not possess and cannot reasonably obtain one, you can fill out a Reasonable Impediment Declaration and show a copy or original of a supporting form of ID from a list.

Close to elections, get a printed Voters Guide at any library or go to VOTE411.org.
