For the Upcoming Election

Last day to register for the November 7, 2017 General (Constitutional) election is Tuesday, October 10.

Ballot by mail applications MUST be received by Friday, October 27.

Early Voting is Monday, October 23 through Friday, November 3.

Election day is Tuesday, November 7.


The Austin Area League will publish a Voters Guide on or before the start of early voting. It will be on this web page. 

All the information for candidates in your district from the Voters Guide can be found at Vote411.org. By entering your address, you will see only those candidates for races in which you are allowed to vote.

If you do not have a valid Texas Driver License or one of the other approved forms of ID, you can apply for an Election Identification Certificate (EIC) at any DPS office in Texas.  You do not need to apply in your home county. A list of the offices can be found here and currently scheduled mobile locations can be found here.


Want to vote by mail? In Texas, you can request a mail-in ballot if you are:

  • 65 years or older;
  • disabled;
  • out of the county on election day and during the period for early voting by personal appearance; or
  • confined in jail, but otherwise eligible
